International Women's Day is a global celebration to acknowledge the various achievements of women, despite the adversity we face everyday. March 8, the day it is celebrated, is a call to action to increase awareness and action to work towards an equitable tomorrow. IWD started 1911, but the issues discussed are still prevalent today. Join us as we celebrate women’s achievements and accomplishments this month!

Donate to organizations around the world that support women and girls
In Toronto, there are many different women's rights organizations such as Canadian Women's Foundation and Woman Act.
Shop from women-owned and women-led businesses.
Although it sounds simple, there are actually many businesses around us founded, owned, or led by women.
Some examples include:
23andMe
Founded by Anne Wojcicki in 2006, 23andMe allows the average person to get a better understanding of their genetic background.
Canva
Founded by Melanie Perkins in 2013, Canva has quickly become famous for its user-friendly interface and free-to-start features.
CVS
Karen Lynch took over as CEO of CVS, the largest health provider in the world, in February 2021. She is moving CVS from a typical drugstore into a healthcare hub with fresh store layouts, healthcare partnerships and innovative technology.
