Volunteer Opportunity for International Students (York Region District School Board)

The International Education Services Department is conducting a two-week Orientation Program for new secondary international students. In the program, new students will participate in daily classroom activities and lessons, attend excursions, and make new friends.
They are looking for international student volunteers to assist teachers and staff during the program. This is a 10-day volunteer opportunity for international students who require volunteer hours. The volunteers must be strong academically and demonstrate good attendance. In addition, successful candidates will develop strong interpersonal skills, be outgoing, and easily be able to develop relationships with adults and peers. In selecting students, preference will be given to students who are international fee-paying students, and they must be returning to study at YRDSB September 2023.
Dates: Monday, August 21, to Friday, September 1, 2023 (inclusive, 10 days)
Hours: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Location: Dr. Bette Stephenson Centre for Learning (36 Regatta Ave., Richmond Hill, ON (transportation, by school bus, will be arranged originating from most secondary schools).

YRES Summer Camp Volunteer
The York Region Educational Services (YRES) is currently looking for summer camp volunteers. As a not-for-profit charitable organization, volunteer hours at YRES can be contributed to the 40-hour Ontario Secondary School Program (OSSD) requirement. Applicants must be of 16 yrs or older. The service excellence, teamwork and relationship building skills, and passion in teaching children are highly valued.
Time: July 10 - August 18
