During the month of February there were many volunteering opportunities – but in case you missed them, here are a few more opportunities in the month of March!
Volunteer Markham Snow Heros
Remember when there was so much snow we would sink into it? Should we even step outside? Remember the hassle it had been to shovel it off your driveway so that you could go to school and your parents to work? Well imagine the struggle for those who find the strenuous task too physically demanding. Imagine how long it would take them to shovel all that snow. This is why Volunteer Markham’s team of Snow Heros are there to help!
All you have to do is fill out the simple form linked and you can receive 2 volunteer hours. Help your neighbors with a task they may not be able to complete!
SPLC Mandarin Teacher
Another volunteer opportunity for those who speak Mandarin is to be a Virtual Mandarin Teaching Instructor for SPLC (Senior Persons Living Connected). SPLC is a non-profit charity organization whose services, programs, and healthcare supports a wide range of individuals and their caretakers.
You would teach older persons to speak Mandarin through a zoom call for a minimum of 2 hours per week. This includes preparing a curriculum, lesson plan, and slideshow. You must be patient, reliable, respectful, and self-motivated. For those 12+ seeking a challenge this opportunity could be the one for you!
