Hello and welcome to the March Opportunities section.
Youth Leaders in Training
Are you looking to work as a Camp Counsellor? Do you want to gain leadership skills and build your resume? Come and get trained to be ready to apply for a camp position at the City of Markham! The program is open to youth ages 16-24 at NO COST! However, there is a priority for permanent residents and convention refugees.
The program consists of 32 hours of training and 8 hours of placement, and you will gain precious skills and experiences for a camp position at City of Markham upon completion of the program. You will learn standard first aid and CPR Level C requirements, the HIGH FIVE Healthy Child Development Certification, as well as program planning and how to supervise a group of 6-10 campers.
The dates and location of the training program are April 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd from 9am to 5pm, at Welcome Centre, Markham South.

Volunteering at Aurora Food Pantry
The Aurora Food Pantry provides food assistance to individuals and families in need, thanks to donations from local organisations, schools, businesses and individuals, and the dedicated volunteers who serve our clients. The mission is to ensure no one in Aurora and Oak Ridges goes hungry.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Volunteer Client Servers
Front Desk Volunteers
Warehouse Volunteers (Tues 9am-3pm)
Picking up Bread Donations (Fri evening pick up, drop-off at Pantry Sat morning before 8:30am)
