Be an iPad Artist
Are you a newcomer to Canada looking for something fun to do at next week's PD day? The Welcome Centre of Immigrant Services will hold a “Be an iPad Artist” event, and it is just for you! The event aims to get the immigrants started in the world of digital drawing and learn the drawing software Procreate on iPads. The event is open to immigrant youth ages 13 to 24, and you need to register with your PR card.
The event will take place on February 3, from 10 am to 12.30 pm in Welcome Centre (Markham North), and it is free of charge. For more information, please visit https://cicscanada.com/en/events/819.
Volunteering at Markham Aquatic Club (MAC)
MAC's vision is to be the premier swim club for competitive swimming in Canada, and they are looking for volunteers now. MAC has a Volunteer Points System in place to ensure equitable sharing of workload, and most members earn volunteer points by officiating at MAC swim meets.
To earn volunteer points by officiating you must:
1. Attend Officials Training Clinics, AND
2. Volunteer for a set number of swim meet sessions
In addition to officiating, you can earn volunteer points by helping at social events, become a group parent rep, be elected to the Board, help with fundraising, chaperone during travel events, help with fundraising, manage teamwear and much more.
